"Alison Reynolds was the 2022 New Mexico Music Awards winner for Best Cover Song for her mash up of Dylan's All Along The Watchtower and Kansas' Carry On My Wayward Son. She recorded this and the rest of her album, Closer to Home, at her home studio in Las Cruces.
Reynolds writes and plays most of the instruments on her albums, employs looping technology to combine guitar, cello and vocal tracks, but the album includes guest performances by Tim McKeller on bass, Dave Ferris on drums, Mark Split, harmonica and guitarist Chris Baker.

An alternate title for the album might have been taken from another song on the album, Perfectly Imperfect. Reynolds compositions are straightforward and listenable. The instrumentation is uncrowded and democratic with each instrument finding its place in the song. The album is launched with Rocking Chair, a metaphor for life followed by the funky Give Me Space which employs a Dylanesque rhythm. The bluesy I Try features sax work by Tom Smith followed by the title track. Perfectly Imperfect is next, followed by Good News which brings the pace back up. The album wraps with Till My Last Breath, Decisions, the Watchtower/Son medley, A Million Wishes and Head Above water. Eleven tracks in all.
A side note. Reynolds has included on the tracks where she employed live musicians the names of the artists which appear as a scroll during the stream online. This is something that is impressive in a world that has all but abandoned vinyl and CDs where credits made the project that much more interesting. Kudos to Ms. Reynolds for giving her sidemen the recognition they deserve."

"I Won't Go Quietly" is unapologetically American. Alison Reynolds's voice is authentic, and so are the lyrics which she sings out with true emotion. Alison, coming from Las Cruces, New Mexico, makes you feel the dry heat on this track. Perfect for outside listening with a beer in hand, and takes me to the days where blues and rockabilly were at the top of charts. Artists like Alison keep this type of music alive, providing a great service to the music community. Rock and roll shall not go quietly. Bravo Alison.

Reynolds is incredibly talented, and her use of live looping paired with the cello and her vocals give her a truly unique sound, it draws you in and leaves you wanting more. The cello adds a haunting depth, and it takes the piece of music to the next level, I absolutely love Reynolds style, and I think you will too. ”

"The Music of Alison Reynolds is the product of an Intimate Synchrony of an Extraordinary Accomplished Talent that is so intrinsically intertwined with the Dulcet and Halcyon Sensuality of a voice that makes the music an Epitome of the Ritornello of Symphonious Genius and Artistic Imagination."

- Professor Andrew JCT Xarn

Original songs

Energetic and soul searching melodies, delivered with a powerful but soothing voice that drips with honey and flows like silk, that is the essence of Alison Reynolds. Her songs, ranging from Folk to Americana and a slight hint of Country are often intertwined with skillfully crafted, passionately played cello lines and blended vocal harmonies. Acoustic and electric guitar drive the rhythm along with Tenor Ukulele and her lyrics speak of the ageless lessons of life.

Alison currently has five CDs of original music out. All five CDs are receiving radio play from stations in the US and the UK.
